Reading struggles in early grades are more prevalent than we often acknowledge. A significant portion, around 20-30%, of young learners grapple with reading difficulties. Recognizing the urgency of this issue, my teammate Matthew Newman and I embarked on a journey to make a difference.
Over 18 months ago, the concept of “Project Butterfly,” a free AI-powered reading tool, took shape. We enlisted the help of talented coders to turn this idea into reality. While I delved into the technical side, Matthew focused on creating impactful and engaging content. The path to launch was filled with challenges, but it provided invaluable lessons about coding and the dedication needed to build something from the ground up.
The development team at GLM3 was instrumental in our success, proving that collaboration is key. Witnessing Project Butterfly’s launch solidified our belief in the potential of young people to create meaningful change. This experience has not only fueled our passion but also demonstrated that with dedication and teamwork, even ambitious goals can be achieved.
